A Long Day Walking Freycinet National Park Deserves a Delicious Meal!

At Freycinet Experience Walk, it’s not just about the walk - it’s also very much about the food!

We love using Tasmanian produce and creating delicious, seasonal menus for our guests. Our food philosophy is to use the very best local produce and serve it in a way that pays homage to the ingredients, in turn doing our local producers proud! Plus, in these times of economic uncertainty, there’s never been a better time to reach out and support local.

We keep our menu simple (but oh, so delicious) for a couple of reasons - what we lack in modern kitchen appliances (and electricity for that matter) we make up for with our love of food and having the finest, freshest ingredients at our finger tips… And you’ll see what we mean as soon as you pull up your seat at the table.

Picture this: you return to Friendly Beaches Lodge from a day walking through stunning national park, taking in sweeping coastal views and experiencing the native flora and fauna. What better way to top off the day than to sit back and enjoy an array of freshly prepared dishes while you sip on a local drop of your preferred beverage. Pair this with vibrant conversation with your walking companions and settle in for the night.

Fancy freshly shucked oysters and a glass of bubbles? No problem! How about a bright and zesty salad before you tuck into a hearty stew of locally grown meat and vegetables (paired with a Tasmanian Pinot Noir, of course), coming right up. You see, we are passionate about our little slice of paradise on the East Coast of Tasmania, and we are also really passionate about the produce that is lovingly grown, made and harvested in the area.
